History In 1893 six golf enthusiasts in Enfield met together and decided to form a golf club. It appeared that they started to knock a ball around in what was then known as Old Park. Before long there were 25 members which became known as The Old Park 25 Club later to become Enfield Golf Club. By 1903 James Braid, himself a fine golfer and Open Champion in 1901, for which he received £30, had completed the design and construction of the 18 hole course and whilst a few changes have been made since that time, essentially the course retains its original character. |
